As part of the systematic monitoring of urban projects, the monitoring group of the Almaty City Development Centre conducted another visit to the reconstruction site of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan building.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the actual progress of construction and installation works, compliance with approved schedules, and the quality of key stages of reconstruction.
The inspection revealed delays in certain types of work compared to the target deadlines. The contractor was advised to speed up the elimination of previously identified issues and increase the pace of production.
During the monitoring, special attention was paid to compliance with construction technologies and the condition of structural elements. Experts noted the need to adjust certain decisions and bring a number of components into line with current regulatory requirements.
In addition, the monitoring group of the Almaty City Development Centre recommended:
• to promptly increase the number of construction personnel at the site;
• to redistribute resources among construction participants, taking into account the current criticality of the work being performed;
• Update the work schedule with a focus on priority areas.
All identified issues are of a working nature and are being addressed in collaboration with technical supervision and design organisations. Monitoring of the elimination of comments and compliance with deadlines will be carried out on an ongoing basis.
Systematic monitoring allows for the timely identification of risks, management decisions and the sustainable implementation of projects aimed at preserving and developing the city's cultural infrastructure.
