Almaty's experience in the introduction of digital technologies, the involvement of citizens in smart projects, the improvement of urban spaces and other strategic areas of the city's development has been awarded by the International Assembly of CAPITAL and major CIS cities.
Mayor Almaty Baurzhan Baybek presented the anniversary signs-order «For contribution to the sustainable development of CIS cities» to the Chairman of the Board of the «Almaty City Development Center» (ADC) Zhanna Tulegenova and the head of the Foundation for Financial and Economic Examination Group of projects of the ADC Gulmira Burkutbayeva on behalf of the President of the Assembly of the International Capitals and Major Cities of the CIS Irek Yalalov. Representatives of the city's mayor's office also received commemorative awards.
Recall, the Center for Development of the city of Almaty was established in 2008 with 100% participation of the mayor's office of the city. The main goal is to promote the sustainable development of the city, introduce «smart projects» designed to optimize business processes, improve service and safety, reduce the cost and consumption of resources, and most importantly - to provide feedback with citizens.
Modern technologies are being introduced in each of the spheres of life of the metropolis: security, public transport, education, health care, etc. Digital projects are implemented on the basis of three key principles: transparency, economic returns and improving the quality of public services.
Among the projects of the ADC: OpenAlmaty Public Reception, Situation Center, Affordable Housing Service (E-CAO), Road Safety, Damumed Medical System, balabaqsha.open-almaty.kz, mektepalmaty.kz, etc.
In December 2018, the Almaty City Development Center passed ISO 9001:2015 international certification in the field of urbanism, digitalization, financial examination of projects and interaction between the city administration and the population.
