Today, the Open Almaty portal was launched in Almaty in a pilot mode.
«Open Almaty» was initiated as part of the Smart City concept.
The project is designed to help residents, businesses and visitors of the city of Almaty in solving life situations unregulated. It is expected that the project will allow to change the approach of developing standards and regulations of state agencies, to make their development from the opposite. In other words, the regulations should be tailored to the demands of the population.
Analysis of applications for consideration of life situations will reveal the most pressing and problematic issues of the population.
Open Almaty is a complex project that is planned to be implemented in two stages:
The first stage is the launch of the open-almaty.kz life portal;
The second stage is the launch of the public reception office of the city on the principle of open doors and accessibility of the mayor's office to the population.
For the convenience of users, the portal «Open Almaty» is divided into 3 categories of users: residents, visitors to the city and business. The portal is intended as a single contact center with the city authorities. As a result, the unified database of appeals will increase efficiency and strengthen control over the procedure for reviewing citizens' appeals by the almaty city authorities.
The Open Almaty portal is a kind of interactive guide designed to give detailed instructions on various issues: how to call a district doctor at home, how to transfer a child to another school, how to get help with employment, etc., as well as those cases that are not reflected in the legal field. It should be noted that today more than 100 life situations are presented in the test run.
«Today we are launching the Open Almaty portal, which has the potential to become the main information source for solving the living situations of the population,» explained Ruslan Asaubayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Almaty City Development Center. «We are working on the development of the portal, so that Almaty does not even need to know what state body or utility is providing it with the necessary service, as well as where to turn, in case of problems. Finding ways and examples of solutions to life situations is designed to help OpenAlmaty,» he explained.
Step-by-step instructions for dealing with life situations are described in simple language and are not overloaded with terms.
The Almaty City Development Center invites all residents and visitors of Almaty to take part in the development of the portal. Ruslan Asaubayev stressed that the portal is still working in pilot mode. «The success of the project depends not only on the technical characteristics, but, first of all, on the interest of the citizens themselves. We understand that not all situations are reflected on the portal. «Therefore, if you have not found your life situation, please apply. We will definitely review it and give step-by-step instructions. Thus, the content of the portal will be formed to meet the requests of users. We thank users for comments and suggestions for the development of the service and the functions of the portal,» he said.

The «Open Almaty» portal in pilot mode is available at http://open-almaty.kz/ , the official launch of the portal is planned for August of this year.
