In Almaty were discussed issues to improve business climate

On November 28, 2017, Almaty hosted a meeting with the business community to explain Kazakhstan's reforms to improve the business climate, which was attended by representatives of the Almaty City Development Center, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the National Bank, SLBs, business communities and international experts of Reformatix LLC.
The World Bank's «Doing Business» rating is a starting point and an important component in the choice of foreign companies to conduct their business, respectively participating in the ranking of «Doing Business» 190 countries are competing to create the most favorable and comfortable conditions for doing business.
«As part of improving the business climate, Kazakhstan has adopted five reform packages. For example, if earlier a legal entity - a small business entity registered 5 days, now you can register for half a day, due to the decisions taken and the amendments to the legislation. According to the World Bank's ‘Doing Business 2018’ report, Kazakhstan ranked 36th in the ranking. On many indicators we raise our positions, and in some we occupy leadership positions. For example, according to the indicator «Protection of minority investors,» Kazakhstan this year is in the first place among 190 countries of the world,» - Aliya Jaksylikova, Executive Director of the Almaty City Development Center, said during the speech.
The mayor of Almaty is working to improve the position of Kazakhstan's indicators, on a regular basis is carrying out information and education work with state agencies, utilities, in places of service and on the websites of state agencies posted standards of public services, a list of requested documents, numbers of helplines. The Office of Architecture has concluded memorandums with 82 project and 40 geodesic organizations to reduce the time frame for the preparation of project documentation from 30 to 10 days.


International experts also noted Almaty's role as a major financial center of the Central Asian region, which is the main engine of business reforms.

Representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Information and Communications and the National Bank also highlighted reforms in the areas of opening enterprises, registering property, executing contracts and obtaining loans.
The World Bank conducts annual surveys in Almaty. This underlines the role and responsibility of the metropolis for implementing reforms aimed at improving the business climate in Kazakhstan.
