On 24 December, a working meeting with representatives of public environmental organisations was held at the Almaty Development Centre, during which issues related to the development of environmental initiatives and interaction with the civil sector were discussed.
During the meeting, public organisations identified a number of practical issues related to the implementation of environmental events and projects aimed at shaping environmental culture and involving city residents in sustainable practices.
Following the discussion, representatives of public organisations asked the Almaty Development Centre to assist in selecting a venue for the Recycle Birge environmental event. The Almaty Development Centre promptly began working on this issue and, within the scope of its competence, provided organisational assistance in determining the venue for the event.
As a result of this joint effort, the Recycle Birge event took place on 25 January at the Baluan Sholak Sports and Cultural Complex.
The participants of the meeting noted the constructive nature of the dialogue and the importance of timely interaction between city structures and public associations. The Almaty Development Centre considers such requests as part of its systematic work to support public initiatives aimed at improving the quality of the urban environment.
The Almaty Development Centre also expressed its willingness to continue actively participating in environmental events and initiatives implemented jointly with public organisations, within the scope of its powers and existing programmes.
The meeting was of a working nature and laid the foundation for further cooperation in the field of environmental initiatives and sustainable development of the city.
