From May 13–15, employees of the Almaty City Development Center JSC participated in a seminar on information security and digital hygiene held at the Kostanay branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for civil servants of the Kostanay region.

As part of the training program, participants examined current information security threats, including phishing, social engineering, personal data leaks, malware, and the risks of using work chats and cloud services. Particular attention was paid to digital hygiene for civil servants, protecting proprietary information, and responding to cyber incidents.

Mubarak Zhandos and Ainura Nurlybaeva, senior project managers of the Project Management Directorate, served as guest lecturers.
Mubarak Zhandos delivered lectures on information security, digital hygiene, and project-based approaches to implementing digital solutions. Ainura Nurlybaeva delivered a lecture on information security in the application of artificial intelligence tools in public service, including data protection, the secure use of AI services, and risk mitigation when integrating AI into the workflows of government and quasi-government organizations.

The practical portion of the seminar included case studies, cyber incident simulations, and team assignments focused on responding to data leaks, phishing attacks, and account compromises. Participants also learned about modern approaches to information security, recommendations for using multi-factor authentication, and securely working with email and digital services.

Following the training, the participants presented their own proposals for improving information security and digital resilience in their organizations.

Almaty City Development Center JSC also collaborates with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on training events, expert consultations, and the exchange of practical experience in the areas of digitalization, project management, information security, and modern communications approaches.

«The practical format of such seminars allows us not only to study modern threats but also to practice action algorithms in real-life incidents, as well as to share experiences in implementing digital solutions and AI tools in organizations,» noted Bauyrzhan Baglai, Director of the Kostanay branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
