Representatives of non-governmental organizations of people with disabilities visited the public reception of the Almaty Mayor's Office Open Almaty.
Aliya Zhaksalykova, Managing Director of the Almaty City Development Center, spoke about Open Almaty's activities. Public reception office opened in 2017, receiving appeals is conducted by phone, through the portal of open-almaty.kz, social networks and in the front office. All appeals are registered in a single information system, the timing and quality of responses are monitored. OpenAlmaty has received more than 181 thousand cases. Through the contact center 60%, front office and portal - 24%, social networks - 16%.

A. Zhaksalykova also spoke about the launch of the pilot project «The Budget of Participation.» The aim of the project is to attract citizens to allocate funds for the development and improvement of certain areas of the metropolis.
In each district of Almaty in 2020, will provide for 500 million of the local budget for the implementation of projects proposed by the citizens. Offers are accepted on the budget.open-almaty.kz portal. One author can submit only one application, the maximum cost of one project should not exceed 100 million tenge. At the end of the deadline for receiving the projects, the expert commission will select them. The winning projects will be determined by the residents themselves by voting. One resident of the city has the right to vote for three project proposals using a personal EDS.
