The Chair of the Board of the Almaty Development Centre Zhanna Tulegenova spoke about the work of the Situation Center, which is a big data platform Big Data, which allows you to make management decisions based on numbers and facts. To date, the Situation Center is analyzing more than 1,000 online. Indicators of Almaty's development: data on traffic, passenger traffic in public transport, congestion of schools and kindergartens, criminal situation in the city, budget execution, etc. To do this, 10 urban and national information systems were combined, integration with 17 other systems of central and local executive bodies is being worked out.
«We receive and process extensive data of a very different nature about the socio-economic processes taking place in Almaty. For example, the system has revealed that 67% of schools are overcrowded, the total deficit is 45,000. 17% of schools are unloaded for 10,000 places. This data will change the approaches on the allocation of places, to revise the boundaries of micro-plots. Analysis of traffic from the suburbs showed that every day more than 240,000 people enter Almaty. cars, with more traffic on weekdays than on weekends. The poll showed that more than 48% of people come to the city every day from the suburbs for work purposes and for study, as well as shopping. Tulegenova said, noting that aggregated Big Data on these indicators will be available to residents of the city and business representatives as early as next year.
The head of the ADC also told the members of the Public Council about the work being done by the Center's specialists in the development of algorithms for services not covered by the state registry. «In other words, we are hand-painting how ordinary citizens, entrepreneurs, or visitors of the city can get services that are not on the official register. For example, how to transfer a child from one school to another or as a child from a large family to get a ticket to a summer camp, what should be done when losing a driver's license, how to get a license to carry out design work or what to do to a foreigner when losing his passport - more than 700 life situations were collected and painted step by step by us during the year of the work of the ADC. In general, it makes it easier to obtain the services of local authorities for the population and improve the quality of their provision» - summed up Zh. Tulegenova.
The guests also visited the public reception office of Almaty Open Almaty, which receives the population on the principle of «one-window» representatives of the district mayor's office, housing departments, employment and social programs, passenger transport and roads, architecture and urban planning, natural resources, police department, state revenues, emergencies, prosecutor's office, National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, Service Centre, etc.
Members of the Public Council became interested in the work of the Situation Center, and also asked for proposals to change the law on public services, taking into account the appeals of citizens who received in Open Almaty.
