Experts in Almaty Discuss the Role of the Qurultay in Shaping Kazakhstan's New Legislative System

On August 23, Kazakhstan will hold elections to the Qurultay, a new representative body that is expected to form the foundation of the country's renewed legislative framework. Ahead of the election, experts gathered in Almaty to discuss the significance of the political reform and its potential impact on Kazakhstan's system of governance.

The expert discussion, titled «The Qurultay as the Foundation of a New Legislative Architecture,» was organized by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies. The event brought together twelve specialists in public administration, political science, law, and public policy to examine the proposed institutional changes and their implications.

Participants discussed the objectives of the reform, the expected advantages of the new legislative model, and its potential contribution to improving the effectiveness of public administration.

According to the experts, the establishment of the Qurultay is expected to streamline the legislative process, shorten the time required to review and adopt legislation, and accelerate decision-making.
