In Kazakhstan, creativity is increasingly being viewed not just as a field of ideas, but as a fully-fledged economic sector—with a demand for funding, sustainable business models, and clear market rules.
On May 3, the IV PR ROOM CREATIVE INDUSTRIES FORUM pre-forum was held in Almaty. The event, supported by the Almaty City Akimat and represented by the Almaty City Development Center, brought together representatives of architecture, film, media, urban planning, and creative business.
It was organized by the PR Room community—a professional platform for media and PR specialists that develops industry journalism, implements educational initiatives abroad, and hosts large-scale events. Founder: Ainur Baigozha.
The pre-forum became a space for open professional dialogue and the exchange of experiences. The discussion focused on key issues in the development of creative industries:
— where to seek funding for projects
— how to build sustainable monetization models
— which formats are currently working in urban environments and content
Participants paid special attention to practical aspects:
— protecting reputation and managing public image
— working with copyright
— maintaining control over creative products
Experts shared practical experiences—from project launches to their promotion and scaling. The session featured the following speakers:
— Aidar Konusbayev, an expert in architecture and project management
— Botagoz Kaldayakova, Executive Director of the «Shamshi Alemi» Public Foundation
— Anna Darmodehina, Founder and CEO of Movie Service
— Alua Barmankulova, a journalist, producer, and PR specialist
— Tariel Jalally, Director of Change PR Kazakhstan
— Dilyara Mazhitova, Vice President of the Rotary Club and co-author of the Cob House and Audiotheatre Almaty projects
— Tatyana Sinenko, Founder of Aurora PR Agency
The program included expert presentations, case studies from the creative industry, master classes from practicing specialists, and recommendations for project promotion.
The pre-forum concluded with a networking session: participants continued to discuss ideas, get to know each other, and negotiate future collaborations offstage. The pre-forum in Almaty was part of the preparations for a key industry event—the IV PR ROOM CREATIVE INDUSTRIES FORUM, which will take place on May 16 in Astana.
The forum's theme is «How to Find Funding for Creative Projects.» Learn more: https://www.artforum.kz/
