Almaty Development Centre: dialogue with society in the field of education

28.01.2026

The Almaty City Development Centre hosted another meeting with representatives of the public and experts in the field of education.

The discussion was held in an open format and focused on topical issues related to the development of the city's educational environment, ranging from management and human resources to career guidance, accessibility of educational spaces, and support for private and public sector initiatives.

Similar meetings with the professional community in the field of education began in mid-December 2025 and are held on a regular basis. The latest meeting was a continuation of a systematic dialogue aimed at taking into account practical experience and the real needs of the industry.

The discussion was attended by Nurgali Elshibekov, Academic Director of JOO HIGH SCHOOL, Kuralay Baitazhikova, mentor at the Auyl Pedagogical Academy, and Meirzhan Kurmanov, Director of the KOMUNITYPLUS Public Foundation, which is involved in the development of informal education in Kazakhstan.

Also participating in the meeting were Anastasia Ammosova, Operations Director at InVision View, who announced plans to launch an English-language bachelor's degree programme this year at an existing foundation; and Almas Sapargaliyev, Head of Zhanija Aubakirova's private school.

Oleg Pak, Director of Shokan Academy, and Nariman Utebayev, an expert in career guidance, also shared their experiences. Zhaksybaev Erkanat, Academic Director of the Mugalim programme, which provides comprehensive support to students of teacher training universities, also participated.

Representatives of the Almaty City Development Centre noted that regular dialogue with the professional and public communities allows for the real needs of the education system to be taken into account and more effective approaches to the implementation of urban initiatives in this area to be developed.

All proposals and initiatives voiced during the meeting will be considered and used in further work.
