On 28 January, the Almaty Development Centre hosted a working meeting with representatives of the Anti-Bullying Community, dedicated to issues of systemic support for children and adolescents at the city level.

The Almaty Development Centre implements initiatives aimed at the comprehensive development of the urban environment, including social, cultural and educational areas. Within the framework of this work, special attention is paid to issues of psychological safety for children and the creation of a favourable and safe school environment.

The meeting took the form of an open professional dialogue. The discussion covered approaches to developing and implementing measures to support children, taking into account school workload, the current legal framework and the practical experience of specialists working directly with children and their families. The importance of coordinating initiatives and their applicability within the current education system was noted.

Special attention was paid to issues of building trust in psychological assistance in schools and in society as a whole. The meeting participants emphasised the advisability of expanding the presence of practising psychologists in the public sphere through accessible explanatory formats, analysis of typical situations and supportive communication aimed at reducing anxiety and barriers to seeking professional help.

The meeting was exploratory in nature and allowed participants to identify common ground, shared values and possible areas for further cooperation. The Almaty Development Centre considers such working meetings to be an important element in building constructive dialogue with the professional community and public initiatives.

Creating a school environment in which children are safe and free to be themselves requires a systematic approach and consistent collaboration. Holding such professional discussions helps to develop balanced decisions in the interests of children and the sustainable development of the city.
