Open Almaty won an IDC CIO Excellence Awards 2019

The OpenAlmaty project won the IDCCIOExcellenceAwards 2019 award for Best Customer Experience Transformation for using digital technology and reengineering business processes to seamlessly engage with customers and increase their loyalty.
The award ceremony was held as part of the IDC SOIO Summit on June 13 in Nur-Sultan. The award in the form of a statuette was presented to the Chairman of the Board of the Almaty City Development Center, Zhanna Tulegenova, Senior Vice President, EMEA Region, IDS Stephen Franzen.
The IDC CIO Excellence Awards 2019 is designed to recognize the contribution of IT professionals to concept development and the successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives in their organizations.
This year's competition was attended by outstanding IT leaders from Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Mongolia.
The criteria for determining the winners were: the use of digital technologies and improved business processes in customer service; the development of multifaceted interaction and an integrated process from front office to back office.
The public reception office of Almaty ,«Open Almaty» was established in 2017 as part of the smart City concept. The aim of the project is to increase the openness of local executive bodies and to assist citizens in solving different life situations. Each applicant can get advice and leave his appeal to the mayor's office, city offices, prosecutor's office, police, department of state revenues, etc.
In addition to a personal visit, access to Open Almaty is available through social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), the web portal, the open-almaty.kz and the contact center 1308 (free from mobile). on the portal of the Public Reception placed step-by-step algorithms of almost 700 life situations from different areas of life: how to transfer a child from one school to another, as a child from a large family to get a ticket to a summer camp, what to do when losing a driver's license, how to get a license to carry out design work, what to do a foreigner when losing a passport and more.
In total, since the launch of the Open Almaty project, more than 140.7 thousand people have received more than 60% of calls are received by phone. Therefore, this work will be strengthened - this year on the basis of Open Almaty will be a single city contact center. All utilities, emergency and service services that provide life to the city will be combined under the number 109.
Earlier, the project «Open Almaty» was recognized as one of the best at the «Ljubljana Forum - 2017» held in Slovenia, and took second place in the category «Future of Cities» among the countries of Southeastern Europe. The aim of the annual award is to identify and promote innovative advanced Smart City development projects.
